• Comply with OSHA and company safety guidelines for height safety, lock out tag out, confined space and hazardous material handling • Hoist metal components into place, safely operating cranes during process • Use appropriate safety measures and encourage other team members to do same in effort to avoid job site injuries • Cut metal components to required lengths using metal shears, hacksaws and bar cutters • Position rebar and other iron reinforcement following pouring of concrete • Skilled in use of specialized metalworking and concrete manipulation tools to perform assigned tasks • Inspect projects, identify issues that occurred and implement corrective measures • Weld, cut and bend steel as necessary with torches, metal shears and welding equipment • Coordinate with crane or signaled equipment operators to lift and position structural steel members and hoist beams, girders and columns to correct positions • Fabricate steel frames, columns, beams and girders according to blueprints or instructions from site managers • Unload and position prefabricated steel and heavy equipment using hoisting equipment, such as cables, pulleys or hooks
