I am responsible for the management and delivery of key projects within the refinery. The management and implementation of these Projects is completed using both internal resources and third party contractors. Coordinating these resources to ensure Projects are delivered on time and within budget, whilst providing regular status reports to the refinery management. I have managed these Projects by developing an implementation plan that covers the full lifecycle of the project, from FEED to Commissioning and Handover. Developing and utilising the plan to track progress, manage resources and coordinating the procurement requirements. If a variance from the plan becomes apparent, I am responsible for developing a solution to overcome this using the approved Management of change procedures. Throughout the Project, the identified and emergent risks are managed to minimise their effect on the Project implementation. Throughout the management of the FEED, detailed design and EPC phases, documentationis reviewed to ensure all aspects of the scope are covered. All proposed designs are reviewed and approved ensuring compliance with both International and Company standards. When the projects contain Safety Instrumented Systems, ensuring the Functional Safety Lifecycle is followed.

I was responsible for ensuring all discipline related works complied with both the companies and International Standards during both Project and Maintenance activities. This also included liaison with external bodies such as the Independent Verification body (Lloyds Register) and the HSE Inspector when required. As Technical Authority, I was the owner of the discipline related Performance Standards, which ensure compliance with the Platform Safety Cases/Site COMAH reports. I reviewed all discipline Project proposals and Management of Change requests to ensure compliance. This assurance also covers completing Function Safety Audits prior to Project Commissioning. I also provided technical support to both the Engineers and Technicians within the Instrument and Control Systems discipline. I also defined discipline competency requirements and was responsible for external recruitment for the Instrument and Control Systems disciplines when required. Within this role I was also the chair of the monthly Alarm Management review meeting.
