Instruct students in Criminal Justice / Public Safety, a career and education course that aims to increase students' knowledge, understanding, and application of the subject matter. My course also includes a basic introduction to Forensic Science. I have created a comprehensive program that includes both theoretical and practical/hands-on instruction at the tenth-grade level. Students are instructed to build on numerous topics: the United States legal system and roles of related personnel, courtroom procedure, criminal law and procedure, constitutional law, family law, civil law, corrections, traditional and digital facial reconstruction and composite, report writing, fingerprinting. I use the most relevant tools, practices, and techniques utilized in the criminal justice industry today. There is a focus on current individual rights, state and local laws, the criminal justice system from the investigative process to the sentencing process as it is administered today. I maintain positive relationships with numerous law enforcement agencies and engage these resources in my everyday classroom for the benefit of guiding my students to competitive careers in the law enforcement / public safety industry.
