Served as Board Member and past Chairman of the Florida Department of Business & Professional Regulation - Construction Industry Licensing Board (CILB) under appointment by Florida Governor Charlie Crist, confirmed and commissioned by the Florida Senate, and reappointed by Governor Rick Scott for a second term of service. The CILB is responsible for regulation of the construction industry including all construction contractors and their businesses in accordance with the Professional Practice Act (Construction Contracting), Chapter 489 of the Florida Statutes. The board meets three days every month to consider applications for licensure, to review disciplinary cases and to conduct hearings relating to the construction disciplines. The board engages in rulemaking to implement the provisions set forth in its statutes and conducts other general business through various committees. Termed out of this position due to statutory service limits. Continues to serve the CILB as a recurring Probable Cause Panel member. In this capacity a member reviews and determines the viability of disciplinary action as the result of a complaint and investigation. Show less
