McNeal served as executive vice chairman for 15 years, growing Interoute from a start-up to a recognized leader in telecoms network infrastructure and cloud services, and selling the company for €1.9 billion (US $2.3 billion) in 2018. Interoute was the leading European cloud services platform across the EU and beyond, from London to Istanbul and Moscow, and from Stockholm to North Africa. The Interoute network connected 124 cities in 30 countries and included 21 city networks (MANs) in Europe's major business centres, 12 hosting data centres, 13 Virtual Data Centres, 31 colocation centres and 10 sub sea landing stations.
