Production Scheduler
-
Nov 2011 - Jun 2012
Madden went through a reorganization of the Production Coordination Department where my position changed. While many of my duties remained the same - as before the reorganization, there were several big differences. Now instead of being account based - I now had access to work on projects from all of Madden's clients. This included Madden Internal jobs, MillerCoors, Remy Cointreau, Mike's Hard Lemonade, and Altria (Marlboro Cigarettes, etc.). I became familiar with my more new piece types and also with Premiums purchasing (Table Cloths, Napkins, Coins, Tents, Grills, etc.) In this position, while I still managed printing projects, my main focus was scheduling orders (jobs) from our clients. I estimated orders also at times. I still was involved in releasing purchase orders to print suppliers who did printing that was not supplied at our facility. Then I got my live jobs ready for billing. It involved extensive problem solving and solutions to make every job go smoothly everyday, all of the time. It was very challenging at times because of the change in workload, learning to become familiar with all of the accounts and how each of the accounts ran through project management differently. Senior Production Coordinator
-
Nov 2008 - Nov 2011
During this period I also worked on the MillerCoors Account. At first on Strategic Accounts - as I was doing as a Production Coordinator. I quickly switched over to managing MillerCoors Online ordering account, along with MillerCoors Corporate Jobs, Sales Communication, and Alcohol Responsibility account. This gave me some, though limited, direct interactions with my MillerCoors clients. After about a year I switched to another account which involved the gang-running of the same piece types for the commonly ordered MillerCoors P.O.P. Items. After several months on that desk, I switched again to manage the non-standard piece types for the Coors Light, Coors Banquet, Miller High Life, and Milwaukee's Best Beer Brands. This involved display and spectacular work for Coors Light Summer, Coors Banquet Rodeo, Milwaukee's Best Playboy, and Miller High Life Veterans Promotions. I was responsible for prototype development, estimating, and then managing the live production of these programs. With the promotion to a Senior Production Coordinator, there were more responsibilities to go along with it. This included but was not limited to: mentoring/training new-hires - for them to mirror my work - to learn how to work in the Production Coordinatior and similar positions. It also involved submitting innovative ideas to MillerCoors from Madden's supply chain, develop rules, standards and guidelines for the Production Coordination department, brainstorm on more efficient ways to run projects quicker and more efficiently. This position also gave me more authority over proof approvals being submitted to our clients. I worked a wider range of pieces types during this period as well. These piece types included: Corrugate Displays/Spectaculars, Corrugate Stand-ups, Poly Pennant Strings, Corroplast signs, Corrugate Base-wraps, Roll Banners, Sales Kits/Packages, and Dry Erase Boards. Production Coordinator
-
Jul 2005 - Nov 2008
During this period I was on Miller Strategic Accounts. I was overseeing projects given to me by my clients. My responsibilities were from receipt of the artwork from Miller's art agencies to delivery of finished goods into our distribution center. If there were any concerns/problems along the way, I was responsible for directing what to do to correct the situation and come up with the best solution to the problem. This involved preparing art lasers, scheduling prepress work for the project, artwork issues/corrections, proof review and submission to our account group (for client review), correcting any edits that my clients desired, submitting pricing to the client to produce the individual projects I was producing, scheduling production which includes printing and finishing - if applicable, handling and resolving any printing or production issues, arranging delivery of the finished products to our distribution center and finally billing out the individual projects that were assigned to me once they were received at our distribution center for kitting with other pieces within the promotion. With this, if there was any pieces we did not print in-house, I was responsible for bidding out the work to approved suppliers, awarding the job to the best supplier according to bids I reviewed, releasing a purchase order and artwork the winning supplier, and finally resolving any supplier issues if they arise. The same rules of procured items applied to internal work as well. That included but is not limited to proof pricing approval and press checks. The position was mainly the Production Management of speed-to-market reactions - according to how the beer industry is being affected. Because of this, my work was very fast paced, with short deadlines to get the work done. The main pieces I handled were Cooler Decals (Static Stickers) Display/Case Cards, On Beer Pack Stickers, Tear Pad (Coupons), Table Tents, Booklets, Folders, Sell Sheets, Ballot Boxes, Posters, and Banners. Cashier/Customer Service
-
Sep 2003 - Jul 2005
I was sort of the "jack of all trades" at K-Mart. I very often worked the cash register in the front/main area of the store, because of my past cashiering and customer service skills, but along with this, I often worked in other areas of the store because of other skills I had learned. I was often asked to work in the Cafe because of my ability to work well with food from working in the food industry previously. During the summer months I mainly worked in the Garden Center because I managed well independently, my knowledge of plants/gardening and my experience running a cash register quickly. I often helped cover breaks in other departments or covered shifts in the electronics department and stocking specifically because of my fast pace and product knowledge. I was awarded part-time employee of the month and also March of Dimes top seller two years in a row. I sold many service plans/warranties when I sold electronics to our customers. Show less

Cashier/Customer Service/Deli Clerk
-
Jun 1997 - Sep 2003
I worked for a Grocery Store Chain with Spartan Foods. They have about 15 stores in South-Eastern Michigan. I started as a Grocery Bagger (Service Clerk) From June 1997 until November 1998. The position involved: bagging groceries, taking out people's groceries to their vehicle, returning carts to the store from the parking lot, sorting bottle returns, washing dishes, some shelf stocking, cleaning, and greeting customers. Next I was a Deli Clerk/Coffee Bar Cashier. I held this position from November of 1998 until May of 2000. (I came home from college on breaks and worked here) The position involved: Making Drinks (non-alcoholic) for customers (i.e. coffee, cappucino, latte, espresso, milkshake/malt, rootbeer floats, etc.) serving ice cream, serving deli foods, slicing lunch meat/cheese, making deli trays, custom (by order) making ceasar salads, making sandwiches, cleaning and dish washing. Finally I worked in the position of Cashier/Customer Service Desk. I worked this position from May of 2000 until September of 2003. The position involved checking out a customer with their final order at a cash register. It required memorization of codes/products to faster service our customers. With this bagging groceries was often involved. Also work at the Customer Service Desk included answering phone calls, directing/addressing customer questions, refunding money, running a lotto machine, selling money orders/stamps. While in this position, and in a location that was not open 24 hours, another requirement involved closing the cash registers/customer service center at night and opening these same areas in the morning, if applicable. Pizza Maker / Stock Boy
-
Sep 1995 - Jun 2001
Runyan Lake Food Center was a small corner liquor store/gas station/deli close to my house. I started working there part-time when I was 14 years old. I stayed working there until my parents moved out of the area when I was 20 years old. When I came home for college breaks or on weekends I would work at the store. I mainly made Pizzas, Bread sticks, Salads and served other deli foods. I also stocked shelves/coolers, organized return deposits (cans/bottles) and cleaned the store. When I turned 18 years old, I ran the cash register/gas pumps occasionally. I believe working at Runyan Lake taught me from an early age responsibility and how to manage things quickly in the work force. I was on very good terms with the store owners at the time and they would have loved to have me work for them longer and manage for them, if I still lived in the area. Show less

Mar 1998 - May 1998
I was hired to be a high school Intern through an after school program my high school offered under application. I was personally chosen for this internship by my high school's vice principal over all other applicants. While I was there I learned the basics of printing which included: weaving for plastic poster designs, making posters, placing numbers/words on caps/shirts, assisting at screen-printing, and assisting other full time workers with their daily print duties. Once completed I was given the Volunteer Beyond Excellence in "Career Volunteers of Fenton" Award. Show less
