Substance Misuse Support Worker
-
Feb 2009 - Oct 2015
Supporting people who are recovering from issues with substance misuse (drugs and alcohol) to access education/training/employment opportunities. Meeting clients one-to-one, providing Information, Advice and Guidance, and assisting them to formulate action plans to progress towards employment. Important aspect of this role is the ability to build positive relationships with often difficult to reach clients. During the last four years I have gained a great deal of experience in sourcing appropriate training and education providers and have built a reputation for quality support and achieved some great results. Strong believer in giving people the chance to become the best that they can be, regardless of what they have done in the past. Very target driven, consistently exceed targets set for supporting clients to progress in to education, training and employment. Love the challenges that this job brings, relish the opportunities to support people to make positive changes in their lives, and what gets me out of bed in the morning is being aware that I have the privileged position of being able to help people to lead more fulfilling and productive lives.
