I was brought on to create a security department from scratch in a hotel that had already been up and running full steam for 2 years. I created programs and procedures unique to the Westin as the building itself and the business needs within it were quite unique. I oversaw all aspects of safety and security at the spectacular Sarasota Westin. I managed the Stone Top and Masterpiece Top divisions at OBD. Stone Tops are created in the factory from scratch with concrete and finished with custom vinyls and resin. Masterpiece Tops are made from aluminum composite material (ACM) panels that are printed in the factory with custom images on them. Both Stone and MP table tops are then fitted with bases and sold as high end custom tables. I hired, trained and managed my small staff and we considered ourselves nothing lees than craftsmen. We produced tables of the highest quality in a lean production environment with firm deadlines and daily goals.

Safety Manager
-
2008 - Sep 2013
I worked at the R@LBKC from May 2002- September 2013. I was the Safety Manager for my last 5 years there. During that time I ran the Safety Department which operates 24/7. The R@LBKC is a luxury 4 Diamond private resort and country club. It's a huge property encompassing over 400 acres with 550 employees, 220 guest room, hundreds of members, 6 restaurants, numerous meeting and function facilities, 291 slips in the private Moorings marina, 2 golf courses, world class Tennis Gardens tennis facility, spa, fitness center, pool and an extensive beach. In addition to managing and training my own staff my responsibilities included all safety and security related issues at the R@LBKC. These included injury/incident response/investigation/reporting, safe work place inspections, safety training, hurricane procedures/preparation, CPR classes, MSDS, key control and as the liaison to local/state/federal law enforcement and local fire departments. I chaired and lead the manager and associate safety committees which determined root causes to injuries/accidents and the ways to prevent them, tracking injury trends in an effort to address them asap and the prioritizing of safety related projects, programs and training. I was the primary contact person for employees, guests and members involved with such unpleasant occurrences as injuries, vehicle accidents and alleged theft.
