During my time at KCI I developed from an inexperienced "green" heavy highway inspector to a lead structures inspector in charge of closing out 7 bridges and 7 culverts on a 3.1 mile stretch of the first toll road in NC, the Triangle Expressway in Morrisville, NC. The knowledge and experience gained during my time with KCI has been invaluable to my development into a Project Manager with Summit Design and Engineering Services. Engineering Intern
-
May 2008 - Dec 2008
While still attended NC State University, pursuing my degree in Construction Engineering and Management, I was given the opportunity to intern with Progress Energy's GT&C department. During this time I served as Engineering Intern and visited 7 power plants that were in the process of being "upgraded" to meet State and Federal requirements throughout NC, SC, and FL. I was also given the opportunity to work within the project controls division on the GT&C department and learned a little about the estimating, scheduling and project controls side of construction projects.
