SITE INVESTIGATION MANAGER I was responsible for the design, programming, staffing and resource requirements for geotechnical investigations, worldwide. Through the preparation of site investigation procedures, training and mentoring, I oversaw a team of engineers undertaking comprehensive investigations, which identified the specific ground conditions and geotechnical parameters that enabled the design of the mining infrastructure. Managing the field engineers throughout the site investigation process was an essential aspect of producing consistent and accurate reports that addressed the client’s requirements. GEOTECHNICAL INVESTIGATION & REPORTING Design, cost estimation, implementation and management of geotechnical site investigations for mining infrastructure that included plant sites, tailings and water storage facilities, accommodation village, haul road, rail and conveyor corridors, port infrastructure and the sourcing of construction materials. Field responsibilities included the management of the site investigation team, liaison with key stakeholders, geotechnical logging, assessment of construction material suitability, permit preparation and HSE management in remote working areas. Office duties included geotechnical assessment, analysis and reporting. CONSTRUCTION SUPERVISION AND REPORTING Construction supervision of bulk earthworks and HDPE lining for mine infrastructure that included road and conveyor corridors, accommodation camps, plant sites, evaporation ponds, tailings and water storage facilities. The primary role was to ensure the works were completed, in accordance with the design documents and managing the QA/QC process, including the laboratory technicians. In addition, selection of construction materials, hold point approvals, administration of technical queries, monthly claims and reporting on the earthworks was undertaken. Furthermore, undertook the management of a project’s earthworks contractor on behalf of the client. Show less
