Directed a project to create new EDI data processing system, with validity and duplication checks on several levels and continuous improvements, capturing potential issues on a regular basis, saving account rep. time and effort, and allowing new clients to be added quickly. EDI Infrastructure refresh; Replaced a Value Added Network with AS2, eliminating the need for the VAN saving $12,000/mo. Also saved costs for the same service for clients. Replaced the old EDI Translator with a more efficient and robust option, capable of handling more data for larger trading partners. Reworked Checks Processing, adding detailed stub info to reduce calls from recipients on what check was for, and improving the process of posting data to master files. Made the process more robust and recoverable, so that if it failed during posting, it could just be restarted and would finish the posting correctly, reducing down-time involved in recovering from errors during check runs. Also added functionality to process payments via Debit Cards and Direct Deposits. Support/Modification of existing SBT & Peachtree accounting systems, custom payment processing & reporting applications, 1099 printing and electronic reporting systems. Scrutiny of C-Mill Y2K analysis/change product results led to my catching potential code problems missed or not fixed by its scans, and special recognition from C-Mill project coordinators for identifying this flaw in their program. The fixes made to the tool helped ensure more complete remediation efforts using this tool company-wide. Modified systems to use Mobius InfoPac report mgmt. system. Conducted testing of Mobius InfoPac autoprinting at the system level with Graphic Arts department, to develop and set up FORD company-wide procedures for converting applications to the use of this new product.
