ET, Electronics Technician.

Jun 2012 - Apr 2013
Troubleshooting intersections in The City of Oklahoma City. Most OKC intersections use a PLC controller running a 24vdc network. The Controller receives and ques request or calls from a detector when a vehicle is sensed. The 24vdc output from the controller is converted to an 110vac at the SRC Triac load switches. The 110 activates the lights and is monitored by the conflict monitor. The conflict monitor supplies power to the flash relay network. All safe conditions are hardwired using jumpers if a non-safe condition is detected power to the flash transfer is dropped and the intersection fail-safes to flash.

The Navy gave me most of my training in electronics. I enlisted into the advanced electronics and computers field and was trained in the Electronics Technician strand. I served on the USS Scout for the majority of my Navy career. The Scout was a mine sweeper and had less than 100 sailors onboard. As an ET, communications and navigations were my direct responsibility. Due to the Scouts lack of man-power I was able “to wear” a number of additional hats as well. I was a stretcher barer trained in first aide. I was responsible for maintenance and inventory of the Scouts damage control equipment. DD-214 Honorable discharge.
