As the Senior Graphic Designer at EGR, I was lucky enough to work alongside Robert De Paola for nearly 7 years. Robert was the Advertising Manager and my direct superior. Robert lead the advertising team with great enthusiasm, encouraged us to be the best, and fondly looked after us when times were tough. Robert’s positive energy was boundless. I will always recall Robert’s ability to invent a quality piece of marketing from nothing. For example, when the General Manager wanted to spruce up a promotion letter, in return he received a 16 page full colour brochure. When there were no photographs, Robert conceived and commissioned 3D renders. When there was no video material, Robert conceived and commissioned 3D animation sequences, used stock libraries, created graphs and pieced together a thoroughly professional motion picture which delighted everyone. Robert’s knowledge and skills are very diverse, he is not only excellent at marketing, but for example also has great photographic studio knowledge. Including the set-up, use and positioning of lighting; retouching techniques and colour correction. His graphic design skills are pretty good too. I will always be extremely grateful to Robert for what I have learnt from him. Robert is a true leader and master of his craft.
