Mr. Scott serves as the Executive Director & Attorney for the Oklahoma Cannabis Industry Association, the 501c6 chamber of commerce for Oklahoma's emerging cannabis market, which funded and managed the campaign to legalize medical cannabis in Oklahoma. In this role, Mr Scott advocates for the cannabis industry before local, state and federal legislative and regulatory bodies and provides expert counsel to businesses throughout Oklahoma. After years of representing cannabis clients beyond Oklahoma, Mr Scott is widely considered an expert in cannabis policy drawn upon by policymakers, business interests, and stakeholder groups beyond the cannabis industry. Mr Scott was appointed by the Oklahoma Commissioner of Health to the Food Safety Standards Board to recommend cannabis processing regulations, provided extensive testimony and policy recommendations to the Bicameral Legislative Working Group on Medical Marijuana at the Oklahoma Legislature, presented cannabis policy recommendations before the American Legislative Exchange Council, and is regularly called upon to provide policy recommendations to local, state, and federal policymakers. As an attorney, Mr Scott provides legal counsel to a diverse range of clients in the cannabis, alcohol, local food, natural resource and energy industries.
