Hundreds of people ride bicycles as their daily means of transportation, and they desperately need safe infrastructure, as part of their daily routes include a section of a high-speed highway. CSI has outlined a plan to create the first link of a dense cycling infrastructure network in the Central Pacific region that will boost road safety and bring about opportunities for the entire community, especially underprivileged children and teenagers, with whom CSI works. Safe, affordable and efficient mobility is a right, and Robert and CSI know this very well. Their work is a testament to that.

Originally, I produced biodiesel for the local community and upon completing a feasibility plan; transitioned into a design Studio / hammock and breakfast that offered paleolithic cuisine. This was not the typical “bed and breakfast" instead it was a “hammock and breakfast” because of the highly enjoyable tropical weather at this location. I showcased versatility, quality, and provided excellent customer service for guests. This was my first internship, in which I was work-trading my time, designing furniture with recycled materials, as well as in charge of graphic design and print of banners, flyers, and posters, in exchange for accommodations and daily meals. After the conclusion of my internship, I continued as a volunteer. I led teams to maintain tight delivery schedules, quality, punctuality, and most importantly excellence in the first ever organic farmers market in Costa Rica. During mid 2008 I was the host (Lúmine) for a pilot called "Mundo Divertido" (Fun World) recorded live in the studios of Canal 15 of the UCR (University of Costa Rica). Once the project took off it changed its name to "Ondivedu" and them I switched roles to the antagonist of the show called "Lux Tinieblas" (Lux Darkness) giving me the opportunity to record a few more additional clips for the TV show on Canal 9. International non-profit philanthropic foundation, which works with communities in condition of Extreme Poverty. Once we reach an extremely poor community, we interviewed the families to make a priority list of the ones in worst conditions, then the emergency houses are assigned and built by volunteers. Afterwards, a Social Habilitation program begins to help the community getting out of the extreme poverty line with an effective economic diversification program. Throughout my time in “Un Techo Para Mi País”, I have learned a lot about leadership and teamwork, so far, I have built 11 emergency houses, eight under my guidance as foreman. I’ve worked on the Resources Department, getting donations in order to keep the foundation running, as well as in the Communication Department, on Graphic Design, 3D CAD Design and rendering. I led construction, delivering materials to the schools, building squads, and managing teams to build emergency houses. I gained customer service and telemarketing techniques to attract donations from big companies and civic duty in order to build a more just Costa Rica. Show less
