Bio
Naoki Tokuhashi
I have known Bob since September, 2006 and I know first-hand how dedicated, confident, and capable he is. He is also the most versatile and well balanced individual I have ever had a pleasure of knowing. He has great an understanding of and appreciation for science and theories but knows the importance of hands-on skills and experience to apply such theories. He is able to think logically and judge what is realistic and what is not, but he is without a doubt a man of great creativity. He has an excellent ability to convey his ideas and opinions in a concise and well-organized manner, while having the patience to listen. He is always driven to achieve results, but never loses focus of the big picture. His ability to plan, and execute the plan, is flawless, yet he has the flexibility to make use of every opportunity. He is one of the most kind and generous people I know, who also knows when to command the respect of others and take control of a situation. He represents the engineering profession and Fraternity in a most respectable and professional light while holding a good grip on joys of life. He is intelligent, well-rounded, and above all, a gentleman but… well, no buts, he IS intelligent, well-rounded and a gentleman. It was my pleasure to work with him on the Sigma Phi Delta International Board and it is my honour to call him my friend and Brother.

My basis of recommendation details are not quite right as Bob tutored as a sort of contractor to the Engineering Undergraduate Society during several review sessions we sponsored. The shear number of students he drew to each of his review sessions every semester (that number was in the hundreds) spoke volumes to his popularity as a tutor. Students found him engaging, easy to follow, and effective. His clients were drawn to him by word of mouth and recommendation through other clients and he was known amongst the students as "Bobo the Tutor". I recall an instance when a class of mining engineering students requested his help to prepare for a final in a course he had never taken: Bob managed to learn the course and develop a teaching plan in a matter of days and walked the class through the material.
