I started as a Ticket Sales Intern, selling tickets to to parents to correspond with the Kids Club. My responsibilities included calling families and following up with emails. I also participated in community relations, and took on a part-time seasonal position at the conclusion of my internship. I was put in charge of the Kids Club, which is a program for children ages 12 and under. The Kids Club allowed members to get into Sunday games for free. I was in charge of reaching out to parents/guardians about registering their kids for this club, and then sent out a personalized membership badge. I was able to increase membership from 600 in the previous season, to almost 900 this season. Another role I performed was within our Reading Program. I was responsible for communicating with the participants about their reading logs, and providing ticket vouchers to students who read the required number of books to earn them. Another aspect of my job was to process donation requests, and determine what the team would give. Most of the time this resulted in mailing out a pack of tickets, but sometimes it required that I put together a raffle basket. Lastly, I also jumped in as the mascot for community events and games as needed. Other times I served as the mascot handler, ensuring that the mascot did not get hurt, while also promoting the team in a positive manner.
