- Responsibilities include overseeing a sports medicine program in compliance with NATA and NJCAA regulations. Application of human physiology and anatomy knowledge to implement prevention, evaluation, treatment, rehabilitation, and education of athletic injuries for 400 plus junior college student-athletes. - Duties also include administering first aid and CPR and evaluating and monitoring the safe implementation of physical conditioning programs. - Primary coverage of football, men’s & women’s soccer, men’s & women’s basketball, softball, men’s & women’s track and field - Performing daily responsibilities of athletic training administrative duties, including ImPACT neurocognitive assessment implementation, injury and treatment documentation using SportsWare Online injury tracking software, processing and submitting insurance claim forms through Mutual of Omaha for sports injuries, inventory and athletic training equipment maintenance, managing budget, ordering supplies, capital equipment procurement, and maintaining accurate medical records.- Supervising, mentoring, and delegating tasks to assistant athletic trainer, graduate assistant athletic trainer, work study students, service learning students and entry level athletic training students. - Ensures student-athletes comply with NJCAA regulations in terms of medical clearance and medical red shirt eligibility. - Serve as adjunct faculty/clinical preceptor for AT Still University, Northern Arizona University, Arizona State University and Grand Canyon University athletic training education programs. Maintaining clinical site standards for Mesa Community College and foster clinical learning experiences for interns and athletic training students.
