Robby Myer has been an indispensable asset for anything that I need for windows and doors, and if I’m looking for what’s new on the market- Robby’s the man!! Robby is relentless on getting the info you need and pushes hard to educate you on what would be beat for your project. Golden State and Robby Myer will become your newest asset for design and construction related issues, or if you someone to take a ride on the local mountains. Robby Myer's presentations are very different from the usual. His past experience in design and detailing gives him a unique understanding of what architects are looking for. He reviews just about every new product on the market and selects the best - the most attractive and highest quality, usually with the advantage of easy installation, and hands them to you on a platter. Using his services is more than a timesaver, it's enlightening and educational. He's also interesting and fun to talk to. A great addition to any lunch and learn.

While this is a Business Development position, my primary function is to be an architects concierge, utilizing my 25 years experience to provide a streamlined information conduit between the manufacutures of the products we distribute and the visionary teams that specify them, primarily in the high-end residential space. I am particularly well versed in doors & windows, and am intimate with most major manufactures product lines. I have resources to custom build anything that cannot be bought. I keep up to date with current installation standards and practices and have considerable experience with the challenges that consistantly must be overcome with the complexities of developing fenestration systems. I pride myself on building relationships that create value for not only myself, but more importantly, my clients, my team, and the company that provides this opportunity to all of us, Golden State Lumber.

In May of 2015, Architectural Wood Products was acquired by Golden State Lumber as part of their expansion into both the San Francisco East Bay area and window and door markets. The acquisition of AWP provided GoldenState Lumber with the custom manufacturing capabilities required to expand services into the high end custom residential space as well as the 'test bed' for the new vision to create Golden State Window & Door Design Centers. In 1997 I returned to the family business, Piedmont Lumber Co., tasked to revitalize the fledgling millwork program. Armed with a talent for drafting and designing complex millwork assemblies, I hit the streets selling millwork packages to custom home builders. My success in that arena saw the division grow to more than 60 millwork specific employees, showrooms in three locations, and more than $10MM in annual sales before a devastating fire destroyed the flagship showroom and operation base… Show more In 1997 I returned to the family business, Piedmont Lumber Co., tasked to revitalize the fledgling millwork program. One of four founding partners, I wrote the business plan that got us funding. As the COO, I built the framework of the business around the talents of the other three partners, two action sports film producers (marketing) and one pro wakeboarder (r&d, design, front man). I was responsible for the production of the product, the development of non-marketing related documents and processes, as well as all manufacturing and day to day operational duties. I was bought out in Summer 97 to pursue… Show more One of four founding partners, I wrote the business plan that got us funding.
