I've known Rob for quite a few years, and can attest that he's thoughtful, articulate, and very knowledgeable about occupational health and safety, and a great leader. We first met when he worked for PCB, and connected immediately. His style of communication combined with his knowledge and experience in the hearing care industry make him a very valuable resource, sought after speaker, and evangelist. Rob is also a strategic thinker and planner, understanding equally well how to lead a team of professionals as well as create a roadmap to take a company or product line from conception to market leadership. He's one of those people that you rarely find that combines deep expertise, humility, friendly demeanor and engaging personality.

Rob provided support for The Hartford's IH Laboratory in my time there. He visited our facility whenever we requested to either demonstrate the Larson Davis units or to help troubleshoot any issues we had. Rob was very easy to work with as he has a strong grasp of the technical issues and was able to answer any and all questions we had regarding the dosimeters themselves and/or the firmware. I would recommend Rob to anyone looking for Industrial Hygiene equipment!

While at Larson Davis, I held profit and loss responsibility for multiple product offerings in the Safety, Industrial Hygiene and Environmental markets. Created and led the Industrial Hygiene Products Group. Drove multiples in growth by acquiring large key accounts in Public and Private sectors. Accomplishments include: Created the concept for and led the design team that developed Larson Davis' most ruggedly constructed noise dosimeter, the '705+' model, capable of surviving being driven over by a 6,000 lb. vehicle and dropped from a height of 15 feet (5m) onto a concrete slab without the electronics failing or losing functionality. This product incorporated interoperability with other dosimeters in the product lineup using infrared wireless communications (1999) Led a development team that brought a new Sound Level Meter platform to market in less than 18 months, under budget – a new benchmark for speed from product concept to market release. This platform has been a mainstay of the company for over ten years and has led to many further product iterations. In addition to defining and approving feature sets and performance characteristics, key aspects of the product line for which I had direct input and control included the overall design and style, ergonomics and unique physical layout that allows one-handed operation even when the user is not able to directly view the instrument and its display. (2003-4) Helped conceive an Impulse Noise Characterization Algorithm development project – working with a US Gov't Agency, (CDC/NIOSH) I was responsible for uncovering the need, then defining and implementing our role as an instrumentation supplier to support basic research for a meaningful damage risk criterion model that could lead to new measurement and signal analysis methods for quantifying health risks from impulsive noise sources. This resulted in the signing of a Cooperative Research and Development Agreement (CRADA) between Larson Davis and NIOSH (2004) Show less
