  I manage and administer all personnel in the KMi Systems team at KMi (STEM), The Open University. I am responsible for the architecture design, implementation and service delivery of server-side lab and associated academic research project requirements which are hosted in KMi and managed by the KMi Systems team.I oversee KMi's server and systems infrastructure, including management of the department's VMware ESXi estate, the physical server estate, it's storage, network topology & associated security, backup and server / application monitoring across multiple data centres and cloud.This includes bleeding edge application support including IoT and blockchain technologies, production web delivery, GPU computation systems and a Big Data Cloudera cluster across a dynamic, un-forecastable environment and ever-changing requirements.My team won the "Best virtualisation and disaster recovery project and best of show" at VMworld Europe 2015 as part of the MK:Smart project.
