This was an opportunity to communicate with students on my degree cohort which involved gathering feedback and then delivering this to staff members at meetings. The primary aim of this role was to help implement changes to courses within the school in order to improve student experience and satisfaction. This was a rewarding job to have as I knew future students taking these courses would benefit from any changes made. As Sprints coach at EUAC I had the responsibility of organising and leading 6 sessions per week alongside my studies. This included having multiple training programmes made up for athletes of different capabilities, as well as adapting them on the lead up to winter training and competition season. This role hugely rewarding and helped to develop my leadership skills greatly. In order to achieve the best result for my athletes, I continually read peer-reviewed journals as well as speaking with other coaches and sports scientists to ensure I was giving them the best level of coaching possible. I also worked as part of a team with the other committee members in the club on other tasks. Show less

This was a 4 day voluntary course I undertook during my 5th year at high school and was run by an organisation called Geobus. The course took place at the University of St. Andrews and gave me the opportunity to learn about what a degree in Earth Sciences would entail. I gained many essential skills during this course, including identifying rock types and fossils, how to measure strike-and-dip, taking field notes, and using state of the art microscopes at the University. All of these skills proved to be a great advantage when in my first year at The University of Edinburgh. Show less
