We develop easy to use mobile applications that provide farmers with all the practical information they need for improving their productivity, income and the introduction of sustainable agricultural methods. Collected user data supports organizations and governments to increase their impact. Our dedicated team of agronomist value chain and IT experts can make and test an app within a few months. This enables us to reach farmers who would otherwise have little access to information.   At EIT Food I was responsible for delivering the pilot of a new programme called Test Farms. This programme links high potential agricultural startups with farmers in Southern Europe helping to digitalize agriculture and tackle problems from water scarcity to climate change. This new initiative is designed to tackle two big problems: the slow rate that Europe’s farmers are adopting new technologies to improve efficiencies, and the challenges that great agricultural startups face in testing their solutions at scale. After a successful pilot in 2019, I was involved in designing and upscaling the programme for 2020 that will be implemented in both southern and eastern Europe.
