I had full management and P&L responsibility for the packaged division of one of Australia's largest wineries and part of the Leadership Team. Key responsibilities included export marketing, brand management, budgeting, wine allocation, new brand development and sales management through all domestic and export channels. I lead the packaged division team, including going through a team restructure and full warehouse/office site move. I grew the value and equity of the branded portfolio through packaging upgrades and distributor partnerships while developing a sophisticated private label business I called 'Living Brands.' These brands target the specific customer experience drivers and add message diversity to traditional wine shelves. These brands are now on shelves in Canada, USA, China, Hong Kong, NZ, UK, Holland, Denmark and Poland. I had account management responsibility for key international bulk wine buyers including some of the world's largest retailers. To help uncover and open new opportunities I developed market data and analysis by customer journey and category. This role required regular international to understand the key drivers in export markets and to develop strong relationships with trade partners. Representing both entry level bulk wine to the world's largest retailers and super premium bottled wine to smaller importer/distributors, I developed a hands on working knowledge of the complex global wine market. The journey and motivation behind wine consumers differs across export markets meaning brand assets need to be marketed through a differnet lens depending on market. I was able to find the right lens for each market. As a large winery and wine exporter, Kingston afforded me valuable experience in lean manufacturing, large scale production planning, strategic plan development, industry and market trend analysis and business leadership.
