I work closely with Austrade's international teams in Western and Central Europe, UK, USA, Japan, NZ and Pacific (including PNG and Timor Leste). I contribute to Austrade's activities in these respective markets, chiefly by providing economic insight and market intelligence from Australia, and providing support and value-add on specific business planning and market-based initiatives promoting foreign direct investment into Australia.I also present these markets to the senior executives within Austrade, providing them with updates from the international network and identifying key sectoral opportunities for Australian business and for attracting FDI into Australia. In May and June 2014, I worked intensively on the Prime Minister's Business Mission to North America. Dec 2011 - Feb 2013
I recently completed a 3 month project working in the United States, where I worked with Austrade's Senior Trade and Investment Commissioners in Washington D.C., New York City and San Francisco. I worked across the clean energy, digital economy/innovation, infrastructure and defence sectors.I recently presented two papers on my trip to the United States. One was to the Export Council of Australia (based in Melbourne) regarding doing export business in the US. The other was an internal presentation outlining the key economic trends and emerging themes in the US economy, predominately focusing on the regional corridors of innovation and R&D that were producing above-trend growth.
