In the spring 2018 semester, I reported for University Desk with a beat focusing on the College of Communication and Fine Arts. In the fall 2018 semester, I reported for Features Desk with a diversity beat. I have covered many topics in my stories, from a feature on optometrists providing free care for athletes at the Special Olympics State Summer Games to an in-depth piece on the intricacies of CMU's presidential search process. This position has nurtured my innate sense of curiosity through interviewing, researching, attending events, and learning to ask the right questions. I have also been able to spread light on issues like the unique experiences of underrepresented sexual assault survivors, the effects of college name policies on transgender students, and managing stress in college.
