A key part of this is to enable the ongoing enhancements to our software technology landscape to deliver enhanced products and improve our end customer experience. Within this role I was leading, directing, supervising, and coordinating the activities of field staff and contractors, overseeing and auditing T1 Contractors and Delivery Partners, and overseeing construction of NBN network – FTTP, FTTN, FTTB and FTTC. Other Duties: • Copper cutting; DPU integration, installation/activations; copper jointing & installing openable joints • Lead-in identification and validation; testing of all installed equipment, and node commissioning • Fibre splicing and hauling; installing, splicing & terminating fibre optic cable; installation and activation of NTD device; troubleshooting, fault finding and resolving network faults • Coordinate with Project Managers, Senior Manager, NSW manager, and contractors surrounding onsite issues such as plan specifications, variations, HSE, and contacting body corporates regarding infrastructure inquiries • Monitoring & maintaining quality of work across the project (based on NBN Co. standards through an understanding of CTO documents) • Performing assurance tasks on NBN’s network using high level test equipment to resolve network faults • Checked and approved audited sites of defects for submission to SharePoint, Atlas, and Maximo • Provide defect information to contractors to decrease the number of sites rejected through PC • Traffic control HSE observations of contractors using various TCP's on work sites • Coordinating and assisting with the training of staff • Undertaking scheduling of work, staff, and equipment to ensure production targets are met • Arranging reports to management and the customer on the status of work

Cable & Pipe Locations is Grafton and Yamba's first choice for professional cable location and vacuum excavation. We service Northern NSW with wet hire pipe locators, cable locators, sucker truck hire and hydro jet drain and pipe cleaners. In this role I was utilising colour coding to identify each specific type of utility; leaving spray-painted marks on sidewalks/streets to indicate the presence of underground utilities, as well as pinpointing the pathway of cables, pipes and conduits that carry utilities through the ground. Duties Included: • Safely operating trucks and machinery • Safe use of vacuum excavator unit, high pressure hose, concrete cutter, core hole driller, as well as hand tools • Locating in ground assets such as Telstra & Optus telecommunications, fibre optics, power, and water • Process and compute utility data, reports and sketches • Read and interpret “Dial before you Dig’s” daily • Plan and implement traffic management • Maintenance of vehicles/machinery • Working with ground penetrating radar systems & electromagnetic frequency detectors • Conducting and participating in safety, pre-start, and toolbox meetings

Silcar reached an agreement with NBN Co to construct and deliver a passive fibre network covering a potential 37% of Australia. Thiess partnered with Silcar under this agreement. Within this role I would manage my crew in a supervisory capacity and work in the field to oversee staff and conduct inspections on completed work orders. I delegated tasks to sub-contractors, and monitored installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, testing, and repair work conducted by the crew.
