Hand Of is an arts and education charity dedicated to enriching the education of disadvantaged children and young people. We work together with schools, heritage buildings and archival institutions to deliver projects which positively impact children’s educational experiences, allowing them to express their imaginations by collaborating with artists and exploring their local history. We work with ‘at-risk’ children, in particular those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), English as an Additional Language (EAL), and children from disadvantaged backgrounds (Pupil Premium Grant, PPG). We believe every child should be given the chance to develop and grow into the smart young person that they can be – full of ideas, able and keen to rise to challenges.- Research for funding bids - Preparing and submitting funding bids - Research into artists and planning of commissions - Co-coordinating logistics for the artists’ participation in Hand Of events - Managing accounts - Planning marketing campaigns for events - Copy writing and preparation of marketing materials - Promotion through press and social media- Managing and evaluating audience participation - Administration and event management- Planning event logistics- Liaising with external partners and venues- Web design and maintenance- Workshop and lesson planning and teaching

Dynamix is a skatepark, an aerial circus skills centre, and a community centre. It has been a central part of the community in Gateshead for nearly a decade, and in 2019 asked me to aid in their organisational development.Complementing my wider professional interests in community health, community building, and engagement with young people as a powerful benefit to a community, my work at Dynamix seeks to build on the last ten years of its work in Gateshead, making the long-term ambitions of its dedicated and passionate staff a reality.

Primarily responsible for delivering the Documentary Challenge programme at the Imperial War Museum London, I also worked across sites including the HMS Belfast.Documentary Challenge uses technology to engage children with the collection at IWM, by asking them to create short documentary films about the collection. As well as managing and monitoring the technology involved, I also assist the children in learning about items in the collection.D-Day Backpacks, aboard HMS Belfast, provide families and children with equipment they need to follow the clues around the ship, and complete tasks preparing them for D-Day. These tasks include deciphering and sending morse code, reading weather charts, and learning about life aboard the ship. I was responsible for the activity, handing out and collecting the backpacks, giving introductory briefings, collecting feedback forms, and making tannoy announcements relating to the activity.I also worked on one-off events, including stewarding at Field Music's live show in the museum, following a commission celebrating the centenary of the end of WWI.
