  I began freelancing for Sonic State back in 2011 when I was asked to contribute to a series they were running on guitar effects pedals. Being a tone chaser I was thrilled to be asked and started contributing to various stories. I was then asked to support the team filming at the NAMM trade show in Anaheim and following the success of that, to MusikMesse in Frankfurt and Superbooth in Berlin. Trade shows are high pressure environments for news teams as speed and quality are the name of the game. Over the years I've helped streamline workflows, developed new approaches to our processes and troubleshooting on-the-ground issues as they arise. These could be anything from networking issues to scripts not behaving as they should, everything needs to be resolved 30 minutes before they'd occurred. I love working in environments like that as it keeps my troubleshooting brain exercised; working on a solution that solves a major issue and then implementing it gives me an incredible sense of satisfaction.   I started worked at Computers Direct while I was in my last years of sixth form. Starting as part-time on weekends and moving to full time once I'd finished school. Diagnosing and resolving hardware and software faults on both Mac and PC has been something I've never stopped loving. I get an immense sense of satisfaction at resolving issues that customers had been told by other companies could not be fixed. I built servers for small businesses and trained the staff on how to use them, created VPNs for clients to be able to access their offices remotely and resolved any issues they came up against. I tutored some of our less tech savvy clients both at their homes and in our workshop. Show less
