Rhonda Rein

I am a director in Thomson Reuters Business Development team. In 2011 I created a new role to provide governance over divestitures. Rob was an M&A lead for Human Resources (HR) at that time supporting acquisitions. By default, the designated M&A leads in many functional areas began supporting divestitures as well as acquisitions. Rob was instrumental in helping me develop a new, repeatable, comprehensive divestiture process that we still use over 10 years later. During the 10 years I had the pleasure of working with Rob on divestitures and carve-outs, we had almost 40 projects, including divesting three major segments and a number of complicated carve-outs. Projects spanned across all Thomson Reuters segments and globally. Rob had the challenge of managing HR tasks in countries that have strict local regulations and processes to follow, including India and France. Rob provided leadership in the HR functional area but he was also a role model for other functional areas. He is extremely collaborative and encourages providing and receiving feedback. Rob has extensive experience in preparing and managing Transition Services Agreements (TSA). He can effectively manage from the beginning of a transaction to the end of a TSA. Rob is well-suited for any HR role in M&A. His leadership style and vast experience with acquisitions and divestitures/carve-outs will serve him well in his next opportunity.

Rob has encyclopedic knowledge of mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures. His broad and deep expertise enable him to expertly guide clients through every aspect of the deal. It was a pleasure to work with him!

Lead a team of HR people who coordinate the HR support of Thomson Reuter's M&A activity. This includes working with our various business units to support individual deals, coordinating with external deal and ERISA counsel and the development of M&A training and tools that the HR community can use when that are managing a deal strategy. There is a heavy emphasis on HRMS and benefits issues in this job, but I am also involved in an array of organizational culture, employee communication and employee relations issues. Extensive collaboration with other corporate functions is also required in this role. Since joining Thomson Reuters, our deal activity has become increasingly global and my experience with cross border transactions has greatly increased. Show less

Provided corporate oversight and governance for benefits plans at Fortune Brands' U.S. operating businesses. Merged seven 401(k) plans into a single plan and then outsourced plan record keeping. Managed corporate governance procedures for benefits plans company-wide. At Brands, I started in a HR generalist role, eventually becoming the head of HR for the corporate office. Because of my ability to build working relationships with our operating businesses, I eventually moved into a benefits job that maximized those skills Show less
