Rob wrote a wonderful article about my husband, Jon Greene, and his business, Chesnik Scopes, featuring my store Cape Kaleidoscopes, for Cape Cod Life magazine. Jon's family history of making/wholesaling his line of handcrafted kaleidoscopes, and how I came about to opening a store to sell his and many other lines is a unique and sometimes complicated one, but Rob absolutely nailed it. He also did a tremendous job detailing all the steps involved in creating artistic, collectable kaleidoscopes, and why Jon's line has been popular among collectors since it was started in 1980.\ While the article was published in Cape Cod Life's Holiday issue back in 2010, I still have customers making a special trip to Mashpee Commons to come to my store after having read that article. Combined with the gorgeous photos by Dan Cutrona of Jon working at different tasks in his home studio, the entire effort has served as an excellent teaching tool for me and my staff in my store, as Jon is our Artist-in-Residence. We even have the article framed on our wall near his workbench and shelves of his kaleidoscopes. Thank you, Rob, for telling our story in such a terrific way!
