Rob is a coaching client of mine, so I have had a great chance to observe him in action. One thing I know for sure: you can always count on Rob to get done what he says he is going to. His level of integrity is so high that he won't let others down when he gives his word. That translates into a leader that makes solid decisions based on good information. He then takes the next step and carries out those decisions in ways that are both efficient and effective. Here is an example: Selling is not his first choice of activities. He understands its importance, but he would rather run an outstanding operation than have to sell into it. However, when his company was looking for superior growth, he took the lead in getting new business on board. While it wasn't comfortable for him, he was very successful. As a result his company has enjoyed better than average growth over the last few years in a very challenging environment. I serve with Rob on the board of an industry trade organization. He has brought that work ethic and willingness to jump in and be successful to the roles he has held there. It is my honor and pleasure to coach him, but an even greater one to call him a colleague and friend.
