I am a Page for the House of Representatives. During my experience here at the state house, I have learned a lot about state government and our state’s politics. I have learned about special interests as well as lobbying and how they affect legislature in the state. This job will definitely keep you on your feet because everyday is different. Session normally starts on the second Tuesday in January and ends around late May or early June. Representatives and Senators meet three days a week during this session period to discuss, debate and potentially pass bills/laws that their committees have worked hard to present during the off-season. I like to say that I am in the midst of all this. Representatives have a “Page” button on their desk if they need any assistance. This is where things get interesting. I could be asked to get them food, transport a bill, get their phone from car, etc. I am basically a runner for the members of the State House. I love this job and what I get to do for others. I have so many great opportunities to meet successful people everyday that will lookout for me in the long run. I am blessed to have the opportunity to Page. Show less

Harris Structural has taught me a multitude of new skills. During my experience at Harris Structural, I worked in less than desirable environments while learning great technical skills. The company specializes in structural repair work that mainly takes place under a house in the crawl space. This summer, I learned how to properly install moisture barriers, fix water/termite damage, etc. Even though we spend most of our time in a crawl space, that doesn’t mean that is all we do. This company also tears down walls for home remodels, bathroom remodels, etc. I also learned how to properly measure/cut wood needed to replace old material that we were replacing. Overall, this job has been extremely beneficial and I have learned a lot! Thank you Harris Structural! Show less
