Louisbourg Investments has been servicing clients for over 25 years and strategically manages more than $2 billion in assets on behalf of institutions, foundations, and private clients. As part of the investment team, I conduct bottom-up fundamental analysis on publicly traded equity and fixed income securities. My job is to understand the risk/reward to shareholders/debtholders offered by the investment. Tasks: Combing through filings, building financial models, presenting conclusions, daily updates as relevant news comes out, etc...

Strategic Advisor

2016 - 2019
Valuestar has gone through several strategic shifts as it battles disruption within the advertising space. Originally a printed coupon book sold by schools and hockey teams across Atlantic Canada, Valuestar shifted online to compete with other local coupon book offerings. Since then, competition for advertising dollars has grown even more intense and online coupon sites like Groupon have become increasingly popular, stealing market share. If Valuestar was going to survive they needed to shift to a model that was untouched by anyone else; i.e. a blue ocean strategy. After months of strategizing weekly, Valuestar decided to make a shift and go back into start-up mode. Over the past 9 months, Valuestar's senior management and advisors have been working on an online loyalty program for small businesses. By learning who their most profitable customers are and how they can convince them to keep coming back, this program will help foster better business-to-customer relationships.

The University uses its top Economics students to lead tutorials, mark assignments/midterms and help the first year students thrive in the very challenging ECON 1011 course. I taught a weekly in-depth class on Macroeconomic Theory to go alongside the course creating an opportunity for the students to grasp the concepts better in a more intimate environment.
