Invertebrate animals are crucial for natural ecosystems to function. They account for more than 95% of known Australian animal diversity. There is a knowledge gap in our understanding and accounting for invertebrates with this segment of the ecosystem being significantly under-funded. In the wake of the severity of the 2019/2020 megafires, three scientists founded Invertebrates Australia in September 2021 in order to create a positive impact on ecological and economic outcomes in biodiversity management. The organisation is facilitating, conducting and promoting scientific research and conservation activities; engaging its extensive network of experts; and partnering with existing scientific societies and environmental charities across three programs: Investigate. Inform. Inspire. https://invertebratesaustralia.org/
