  During my time at FWD my work was primarily been focused upon the import side of the business. This has included dealing with shipments from the Far East, Europe, Australia, the US and on occasion Africa. I personally oversaw shipments on behalf of a number of customers from start to finish (arranging the shipment, clearance and delivery and any financial requirements) ensuring the safe, efficient and cost-effective transportation of goods be that via sea, road or air. I actively rose to the challenges presented by new shipments, be that through shipping to or from a new destination and ensuring the relative customs procedures are followed correctly and accurately to ensure the smooth transportation of cargo or through learning about various forms of documentation required, be that Eur.1, ATR, GSP or the use of a Carnet or EMCS for alcohol based cargo going into bond. I have undertaken further training with BIFA with regards to the customs clearance of goods, the classification of cargo using the customs tariff and the various forms of documentation involved. In addition to the above I oversaw the completion of a monthly Intrastat declaration for one of our biggest accounts and pride myself in that neither the customer or HMRC have had any issues with my work.
