  • The internship covered important concepts of biomedical and biochemical engineering . •The topics included characteristics of microorganisms , identification of microorganisms and their uses in the industry, scope and benefits of bioprocess technology, treatment of effluent and hybrid systems.• Different topics on energy sector such as hydrogen energy, renewable energy exploration were also discussed.• Topics on fermentation like dark fermentation, photo fermentation and fermentation kinetics were also discussed.• Design and operational pattern of bio reactors were also discussed.• Concept of biohazard biodefense strategies were also discussed.• The classes were very interactive and knowledgeable. The poll questions in the lectures helped us to understand the topics in a greater depth and with more clarity.
