As a family support worker I provided outreach support to families by encouraging parents towards the accomplishment of a social status as a family. This was done by empowering parents in improving their parenting skills, by mean of prompts and suggestions. This principle was also applied to the empowerment of parents in managing their finances and in rising their children towards their social welfare, good health and power of achieving a solid future. In my role I also supported the reunification of children with their family/other carers in the community and the care of children where their living arrangements were at high risk of breakdown, including local authority placements.I monitored the daily routine of the family in the placement to record their progress and to rectify issues I Attended and participated in Child Protection Conference, Planning and Review meetings. Furthermore, I was required to give oral evidence in FPC.
