Working in collaboration with Rita for nearly nine years, I was continuously impressed with Rita's creativity, passion and insight into sustainability. Rita has the sustainability knowledge, the marketing insight and the business acumen to create scalable programs that reduce environmental impact - all while being financially responsible to all parties involved. Rita's ability to "influence without authority" and communicate concisely was proven throughout her time with Aramark. Rita worked with executive leadership on present business practices, challenged the status quo in a respectful manner, and demonstrated the ability to develop solutions that improve brand value and financial performance. Rita worked with FarmLogix on data supply and analysis for AASHE STARS reporting, as well as on sustainable sourcing projects for Aramark Higher Ed. Her knowledge and resourcefulness in identifying the complex and dynamic attributes that comprise responsible sourcing and purchasing, as well as her guidance and input, were invaluable as we were coming up a steep learning curve. Having attended sustainability conferences with Aramark I was able to also meet many members of Aramark's on-campus sustainability staff that reported to Rita, and can attest to Rita's strong leadership, mentoring and team management skills.
