We worked in the same product, Risto as an architect and I as a PM. Risto has been amazing architect in our group. I know it hasn't been the easiest task to hop into the group as an architect, but he's managed to do it well over expectations. Risto has been really hands-on as an architect, handling everything and over what is expected from him. He's been the right hand guy in most of the things we have needed from architectural design, aligning multiple stakeholders in large and complex architectural discussions, being as an intermediate lead in many sessions when the different groups have had different views (aligning them effortlessly!), creating demos/prototypes from software and hardware, acting as a replacement trainer - like literally in everything. Risto's capability to look problems from different perspectives is awesome. He can see the solutionsand clearly communicate them to different people to align on the matter. He's adaptability to even seemingly impossible situations is something I'm a bit envious of. Can't understand how he can keep everyone cool and then result in common ground even if the people are on totally different planet. And this is usually done through presenting facts that have been investigated thoroughly beforehand. He's approach is really through proving and studying, which might result in new novel ideas on architechtural side. And what's the best, he is just humble and does the work keeping cool all the time. Imagine that. An architect that doesn't lead from the ivory towers, but is actually a part of the team and that can align everyone. Even if the solution isn't something he likes, but if there is enough reasoning, he can adapt and sees the longer goal of how things can be.
