  Position Reporting to the Child Care Managers, the Infant Teacher Assistant is responsible for providing a safe and developmentally appropriate preschool program in accordance with Virginias’ Minimum Standards for Child Care Centers. The Infant Teacher Assistant will also be responsible for working with the staff to ensure that they meet the needs of the children and working with the staff on shared goals related to teaching skills to better prepare children development. Responsibilities Under the supervision of the Lead Teacher, the Infant Teacher’s Assistant shall be responsible to: - Assist with supervision of infants at all times in classroom, changing area, and playground - Assist in developing and implementing daily and weekly lesson plan activities that meet the physical, emotional, intellectual and social needs of the children in the program - Help provide various experiences and activities for children including songs, games and story telling - Assist in care-giving routines (feeding, diaper changing) - Assist with documentation of daily needs, observations, and developmental milestones - Assist in maintaining effective communication with parents and other staff - Will be alert and responsive to children at all times - Assist in establishing routines - Provide a safe and secure environment - Be familiar and in compliance with state requirements - Perform other duties as required Skills/Personal Attributes The Infant Teacher Assistance’s must possess the following skills and attributes: - teaching skills - team building skills - analytical and problem solving skills - decision making skills - effective verbal and listening communications skills -stress management skills - time management skills - ability to maintain strict confidentiality Show less
