Rima was an extremely dedicated and passionate individual during our work together at Eildon Housing. She was instrumental in creating, publicising and managing a huge caseload for the Migrant Support Service and meeting criteria set by her funders, clients and statutory requirements. She was a skilled communicator and facilitator at work, in the community and voluntary sectors and as a language tutor. I have no qualms in recommending Rima for employment and would be happy to provide a reference or be contacted regarding her work.

Rima was instrumental at Eildon Housing Association in delivering a Migrant Support Service for the Scottish Borders. In her role, Rima liaised with other organisations, presented to external bodies and provided help and advice to individuals in need of the service. At all levels, Rima’s communication skills are excellent. I find Rima to be a highly motivated, diligent and resourceful individual who is passionate about what she does.

: I was heavily involved in setting up the first Migrant Support Project in Scotland. I promoted the social inclusion/ integration of migrants and their families into their local community by:• Providing information about support services and actively encouraging migrants & their families to take these up. This involved accompanying them and their families, using voluntary groups and actively developing links with the providers of support, services or facilities. • Communicating specific needs to providers of support, services or facilities to help ensure that these needs were met and that services were made available.• Empowering members in the local community to participate in volunteer groups and support the maintenance of those groups with the objective of strengthening relations between the different cultures in the area.• Organizing and developing raising awareness events to provide training to personnel in the different mainstream services.
