Alexander Rainford, MBA

It’s not very often that you get to work with an intern who is already so professional and capable of managing and executing marketing tactics from start to finish. The Student Marketing Team at Cengage Group was however fortunate enough to have Riley as our Marketing Intern for the Summer. Right from the start, Riley was up and running and quickly taking on projects that ranged from email copy, collateral development/design, paid search, social media campaigns, and more. Riley is someone who doesn’t need much direction, and rather takes the time to collaborate with others and move projects forward with minimal supervision. As the internship progressed, Riley confidently took on more complex projects including video production working on a tight timeline with internal and external stakeholders to produce product demos, marketing videos and more. She even managed vendor relations and budget, something that most interns wouldn’t handle. Most impressive though, was her willingness to learn, try new things and openness to ideas. Riley travelled to our Kentucky Office for a large department meeting just days into the internship, and confidently participated in all sessions. She worked directly in the Boston Office with our advocacy marketing team to film and produce advocacy marketing content, all while juggling competing priorities. Riley’s positive attitude and drive to produce great work will be missed by all of our team! While she’s leaving us for now, I am confident that she has made a lasting impact on our Fall results and marketing campaigns. Riley is an extremely talented hard worker who would be an asset to any team.

Riley is everything you’re looking for in a young professional: hard-working, smart and fun. It truly was a pleasure to work with her during her internship. She works well with others, but also crushed solo projects. She was inquisitive, reliable and communicative. A true gem that will go far in the career of her choice!
