  Provision of support to individuals newly identifying as LGBTIQ+ or have questions regarding their sexuality and/or gender identity, and also their families. This support is given in a variety of ways including one-on-one appointments and peer mentor volunteers. Community groups are encouraged to establish themselves independently within a safe and secure environment, whilst Bfriend can also provide the foundation for community members to meet and create their own groups where needed.Bfriend also serves as a central information hub for the LGBTIQ community and those supporting them, in addition to being available for consultation to school counsellors, teachers, business owners, organisational managers and more. The service often consults with DCSI staff on important issues arising within the community as well as collaborating with a variety of service providers in community-based development or engagement projects.
