For almost four years I've worked together with Rik and I can only say that it was great! Rik is an excellent consultant and teacher. The speed in which he can create insights and oversight (and write texts and make presentations) is really impressive. Furthermore he's having an almost unlimited supply of energy! And of course he's also very sociable. You can always have great fun with him!

Eelco Rommes

I have worked with Rik for almost five years, of which he has been my team leader for a little over a year now. I appreciate Rik for his hard work, his constant enthusiasm and his contagious drive to perform well and deliver high quality results. He is always eager to learn from others in order to improve himself. To this end, he actively seeks feedback from the people around him, and then acts upon it to become a better manager, consultant and trainer. Rik likes to try out new things and he encourages others to do the same. His dry sense of humor and cheerful nature make him fun to work with. I hope we'll be colleagues for many more years.

I conducted my doctoral research in the area of architectural knowledge management, which entails the application of knowledge management practices in an enterprise and software architecture domain. I published around 18 publications on this topic in international refereed conferences or journals. My PhD research was conducted in the context of the Griffin project. (http://griffin.cs.vu.nl) that aimed to develop notations, tools and associated methods to extract, represent and use architectural knowledge effectively. My research focused specifically on support for sharing architectural knowledge. We discovered that depending on the type of (tacit or explicit) architectural knowledge, different knowledge sharing strategies are effective in the architecting process. Based on these insights, we have designed and implementation Web 2.0-based tool support. We also extensively experimented with these tools in practice. Show less
