I conducted my doctoral research in the area of architectural knowledge management, which entails the application of knowledge management practices in an enterprise and software architecture domain. I published around 18 publications on this topic in international refereed conferences or journals. My PhD research was conducted in the context of the Griffin project. (http://griffin.cs.vu.nl) that aimed to develop notations, tools and associated methods to extract, represent and use architectural knowledge effectively. My research focused specifically on support for sharing architectural knowledge. We discovered that depending on the type of (tacit or explicit) architectural knowledge, different knowledge sharing strategies are effective in the architecting process.
