I got to work with Rick for several years at Microsoft on the Windows Phone project. Rick's passion for shipping quality features always stood out to me. He owned some of the more complicated, integrated features on the device and worked extremely hard to ensure a high level of quality for everything that he owned. Rick was a great teammate and very invested in the team's success. He was always willing to answer questions and help me or anyone else. Rick has a great deal of common sense to go along with his test and development skills -- a combination that is highly effective in the Quality Assurance business. Rick was a very solid presence on our team and I greatly enjoyed working with him.

I worked with Rick on the Windows Phone 7 Lock screen. Quality was critical - a bug or design flaw could lead to the user being locked our, or worse, their data being stolen. Rick wrote and maintained a comprehensive and very stable test suite, he wrote high quality documentation and provided insightful feedback on design changes and new functionality. He's a hard-working, talented engineer whom I genuinely enjoyed working with!
