Freelance Designer
-
Aug 2012 - Present
From freelance designing I have recently been making custom pieces for television personalities, red carpet events, published magazine covers/editorials and artist tours. Having full reign on production from spamples, fabric selection, fittings to final pieces. Working closely with sustainable materials and inventive ways of working to reduce waste. (press) i.D magazines top 10 iconic fashion moments working with Bimini Bon-Boulash. Sourcing and developing fabrics for innovative creations. Seeing through designs from idea’s to final production. Researching concepts and creating storyboards. Working towards briefs and production deadlines. Responsible for art direction. Organizing final fittings for alterations to ensure best results. Attending shoot locations to ensure the wardrobe is kept up to standard and delivered correctly. During this time I have also launched a line that focuses on mindfulness design, using only reclaimed textiles to help reduce the pressure on the waste system. Upcycling and using deadstock fabric is key for my inspiration and drives my design process. Show less
