Rick Staigle had all ready been serving the Meadows Place Planning and Zoning commission since 2001 when I was appointed. It was evident to me almost immediately that he had the knowledge and business acumen to save Meadows Place money where possible. When we started to work on the to be built apartments and medical facility in our fine city there were a number of issues regarding the main thorough fares of W. Airport and Kirkwood. Due to Rick’s engineering knowledge about what it would take to not only reconstruct the roads but to also help pursue federal, state and county grants the city might garner was most helpful in educating the commission and the residents. It was a pleasure to work with such a professional that took the time to explain the issues and possible solutions. Rick was elected to City Council in 2004. Again, assisting with the reduction of the tax burden on the residents. The knowledge about Federal, State and County grants to offset the cost to the citizens, for the Parks projects was and is a continuing passion of his. Rick also streamlined the City budgeting process by developing a 5-year spreadsheet. Rick is a consummate engineer, outstanding in his field, and is willing to give of his time and skill to any engineering project he undertakes.
