Director of Safety and Education

Jan 2020 - Present
I administer a very robust safety and education program which offers support for our members and businesses through creating safety training tools such as SAFEME, which continues to grow in users nation wide. We partnered with the University of Washington in the development of an ergonomic app to help reduce overexertion claims. Washington Retail recognizes the importance of supporting retailers with a healthy pipeline of workforce. For this reason, I'm helping to promote the NRF Foundation’s RISE Up, a retailer developed job training program to Washington state, by working with Career and Technical Educator groups, workforce development entities, and connect them to retailers. For our membership we offer Education and Training resources in our Retail Services division, offering online training modules, a safety library and webinars to help members operational compliance requirements, business knowledge and policies that impact them. The last couple of years have been implementing a "Safety Ambassador" to help businesses move from just compliance towards a quality safety program. (https://washingtonretail.org/benefits/ambassador-program/)Over the years, awarded grant funding totaling $1,000,000.00 to create various safety awareness products such as; SAFEME, eAPP, OneSource RTW, Ergo App which can be seen at https://waworksafe.org/ Show less
