    • VP
      • Oct 2003 - Apr 2008

Vice President and co-owner of a custom cabinetry, counter top, and built-in furniture business with a primary focus on the residential market, both new construction and existing home remodels, with some commercial work mixed in. We designed and built our own custom cabinets, as well as sold Wood Haven and Armstrong pre-manufactured cabinetry. We fabricated solid surface and laminate counter tops, and sold granite counter tops fabricated by others.I was in charge of in-home and business-to-business sales, creating and CADD drafting designs and plans from scratch or based on architectural plans, contracts, ordering materials and products, marketing, finances, and customer relations. Also assisted in the construction and installation of products.I would consider a position as a sales rep. or managerial position for a larger company, where I can focus more on the specific requirements of that position, and less on other aspects of running a business.

    • CADD Manager
      • May 2002 - Feb 2004

CADD Manager that oversaw two CADD Technicians using AutoCAD 2000 with SurvCADD Desktop, ArcView GIS software, as well as MicroStation with GeoPak for O.D.O.T. work. Managerial duties included assigning projects to CADD Technicians, assisting in boundary resolution, checking drawings, and making sure drawings were finished according to schedule. CADD duties included traverse reduction, boundary resolution and Plats of Survey, writing legal descriptions, ALTA/ACSM Land Title Surveys, topographic surveys, and setting up data for field crews. Other duties included educating Crew Chiefs on how to perform field work (including topographic surveys, ALTA/ACSM Land Title Surveys, boundary surveys, downloading raw field data for reduction) to make CADD work more efficient with automatic line work. On occasion, I also worked in the field, using a Topcon Robotic total station with a Windows CE based TDS data collector, and Nikon total stations with HP48 data collectors.

    • CADD Operator
      • Apr 1990 - Mar 1996

Started as a hand draftsman, progressed to a CADD operator (self-taught), then learned to work in the field for this civil engineering and surveying company. Eventually given the responsibility to evaluate our workload and determine whether I needed to work inside or outside on any given day.
